Well - today marks 6 years to the day we lost you in the world. I seem to still be waiting for you to show up at the house to raid the fridge, or mysteriously pick up the garden debris piles I made, or laugh that laugh I so clearly know is yours. My heart and soul ache in missing you my brother, my friend my love.

Chris's son Aristotle Maried Tyler at Chateau bu Ché in Chicago where the twins live. It was a purely beautiful, classy and fantastically lively celebration. Well done gentlemen. It was such a great party in real Vargo style! Vive la Vargos! Welcome to our newest Mrs. Vargo. What a wonderful beginning for these two young people and how lucky are we that our family lives on through these extraordinary children.
Love you all so much❤

...and the days have passed...and years without us in it...but in unexpected moments, you, your smile, the mischief in your eyes float into the consciousness of the day...because you have forever warmed our hearts and our lives and touched the world...and it is better for having known you. Much love to your family, the sisters and brother , your sons, the beautiful boys of your soul and your countless friends....who feel you..who miss you ...it is still hard thinking of the world without you somewhere, listening to WDET and dancing in ways that no sane man should....WE are all better for having known you my friend. Much love friend of my youth, Rita

My dear brother. Every day is still so full of memories of you, and my heart still dark with losing you. My brother and my friend and companion, everything is just different now. I am still sipping and sharing your scotch and wishing more than anything it would be with you. I miss you so much! You would be proud of your beautiful children. I see and feel you in them and selfishly really like it.
I miss you man. I hope you found your way- and your wings. Cheers to you. I love you ❤

Vargo family,
The memories of Chris are forever woven into the fabric of my youth and I am grateful beyond words to have had an opportunity to know him, and call him my friend. His sparkle, gentle spirit and inquisitive quirk....an original in every sense. How do you miss someone you have not seen in two decades....I thought of him again today. I remembered that day he drove up to my father's office with an old school black box [aka radio] that only played WDET. One channel. Because WDET was amazing....and he wanted to share that. So he did.
We lost touch over the years as you know...but he was always a smile on my lips and a true friend, when we were all just budding into our future selves.
Reading his tributes...some things don't change. He was lucky to have all of you as his people...and you to have him in your world. Please accept my deep condolences...I have to catch my breath every time I remember...
Strength and love to you all. Rita

I am truly saddened to hear of Chris's passing. I haven't seen Chris in decades but it sounds like he was as much fun to be around as an adult as he was when we were kids roaming the streets of Rosedale (particularly on trash nights!) or splashing around in his backyard pool. He was a true friend.

Chris was a stellar co-worker and a tremendous friend.
He really knew his areas of expertise. If Chris was working on something, you knew it would be done right. He had a tireless work ethic, and was generous in helping others. During times of stress, Chris was the voice of reason -- the calm one during a storm.
Chris had a great sense of humour and a positive outlook on life. He was the one most likely to recognize a goofy movie line, or to have heard of an obscure song or band. He could converse on a wide range of topics, making you realize he was a multi-dimensional and fascinating person.
Chris was a fixture in Ford Treasury for many years. Coming to work and not having Chris at his desk is strange and sad. We are left with the fond memories of the tremendous personal presence Chris shared with us over the years.
Rest in peace, my brother. You were one of a kind.

Dear Vargo Family,
Words cannot express the deep sorrow I feel for all of us. Your loss was our loss as well. Chris was a wonderful friend and colleague. I, like so many others, will cherish his quick wit, charming smile, lively blue eyes and his intellect and knowledge. He was truly a very special person. Whoever wrote his obituary did a wonderful job. It captured Chris so well. My thoughts and prayers are with you in the days ahead. Should you need anything from his Ford family, we are just a call/email away.

My memory of Chris dates back to 2015 when I joined GTMS. I first met him when I travelled to Dearborn as a part of GTMS launch for Australia & New Zealand. At the very first look and talk, he appeared to be very passionate, charming, helpful and go to guy.
His understanding of his work was immaculate and always a step ahead than others. Until the sad demise of Chris, he was MR. DEPENDABLE and I would always run to him for any issues on bank reporting. He was a person who never learnt to say "NO". He would always guide me and take out time from his busy schedule to make me understand the logic behind everything. Though we communicated mostly through emails, I will always cherish the way he use to communicate and talk with great respect with everyone.
I personally have learnt a lot from him. He not only helped me to grow professionally and learn new aspects of project but also human values.
Chris, I am fortunate to know a person like you and you will be definitely missed. I still read your emails and smile when we both use to motivate each other. You always provided me with positive vibe, which is very very rare in today's world.
In the end, I would like to thank you for the great support you had given me and will always cherish your smile!!!
So Goodbye my friend Chris, until we meet on other side !

Thank you for all your lovely messages. It means a lot to our family that Chris leaves such a far reaching and lasting impression. I neglected to mention the Blake family in Chrisses obit. And want to take a moment now for that. Our dear aunt Peggy Zinn, her partner Lori, uncles Eddie(Sharlene) and Raymond Blake (Kate) and all their children, our cousins; Zachary Colleen John and Shawn helms, Amanda Blake and jerry , the Myers family, etc. Some people have asked if there's a charity to send a donation. I know iPBS was important to Chris and he was a supporter, so that's my suggestion, if you so choose.

Ah Monsieur Vargo
As far as vendor/customer relationships go I think ours was the most personal, humerous and honest. In all that fun we achieved some great things in the FX and Suite worlds.
Memories for me would be your time in London and your newfound love for Crabbies, my trips to Dearborn and us "taking a walk", you introducing me to some interesting beers in downtown Detroit... or when you decided that I was Barry from Four Lions.
I still to this day have the "I Love NYC" mug you got me. It is still on my desk.
And the many out of ours chats we had on music and suggesting bands to listen or for etc. And chats about families and all sorts of things.
And of course I cannot forget our unique way of greeting each other on the phone in our very poor French accents -
"Bonjour Monsieur Vargo"
"Ah Bonjoooouuurrr Monsieur 'Arrisssoooonn' (in a rather surprisingly high pitched voice"
So I would say that ours was a relationship that went over and above a professional one. and from my part you will be sorely missed... but infinitely more fondly remembered.
And now as you take your final walk there is only one way to end this by saying...
Au revoir Monsieur Vargo
Les.326.
(And by the way there will be a special dedication to you at LesFest next year)

What a well-written obituary. I worked with Chris at Ford Motor Company. What I remember most was that he was always smiling. He was called upon frequently to help those of us who were not as computer-literate as he and always responded positively. I didn't know him well, but he stood out in the best of ways. My condolences to his family.

Chris,
It's been a great experience working with you on Wall Street Systems migration and on Global Treasury Management System. I'll always remember your attitude, attention to detail, willingness to go above and beyond to help others and your thoughtfulness. Thank you for being such a kind and giving person and being an inspiration for us. You'll always be remembered.
P.S: I use your "Mind the Gap" coffee mug at work.
