Julie Ann Klein

Traverse City - Julie Ann Klein, 60, of Traverse City passed away October 15, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born September 12, 1958, in Howell, Michigan to Donald and Ruth Klein. Julie graduated from Howell High School in 1976. She married and had three children; Jason, Jeffery, and Jamie Johnson. She moved to Traverse City in 1999. Julie loved to garden and landscape, and briefly owned her own business. For the past seven years she was the manager of the Dollar General store in Kingsley. Julie is survived by her mother, Ruth Klein, of Stockbridge; her children Jason (Brooke) Johnson of Waterford, Jeffery Johnson of Traverse City, and Jamie (Dan Decatur) Johnson of Traverse City; her partner Ken Brandt of Traverse City; her sisters Shelley (Paul) Elmer of Stockbridge, and Kathryn (Gordon) Otto of Howell; seven grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and one great nephew. Julie was preceded in death by her father, Donald Klein. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at MacDonald's Funeral Home, 315 N. Michigan Avenue, Howell (517-546-2800). Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery on S. Burkhart and Norton Road in Howell. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018.
