Werner Grunheid Obituary
WERNER "BARNEY" 87, passed away in Waconia, Minnesota, on the 16th of November, 2016. He was surrounded by family. Barney was born in Detroit, MI. After graduating from Fordson High School and then University of Detroit dental school, he provided the beginnings of his dental services as a Lieutenant in the Navy. He then supported his family with a successful family dental practice in Northville, MI. He very much valued God and family. Barney loved being outdoors. He enjoyed skiing, tennis, and biking with various friends through the years. His infectious smile and laughter will forever be held in the hearts of the many lives he touched. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Anna. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Beverly; son, Thomas (Jean Dusek) Grunheid; daughters, Pamela (Rick) Klein, and Lisa (Doug) Haran; grandchildren, Tom Haran, Mark Haran, and Kevin Haran; and other extended family and friends. A memorial will be held in Brighton, MI at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church on Friday, December 2. Gathering is at 10:30 a.m. with the Mass at 11:00 a.m. followed by a celebration of his life at the church. In lieu of flowers, please contact the family regarding memorial donations. Dear Grunheid family,
I just learned of Barney's passing and am so sorry to hear the news. My parents-Bob and Betty Grumbache spent many good times traveling and laughing with Bev and Barney. Just a few years ago my daughter, Natalie who was a horse enthusiast was able to visit and ride the Grunheid horses. Always loved those visits. Your father was such a warm and kind person and will certainly be missed.

As I heard of Dr. Grunheid passing, many wonderful memories of time spent with the family in Northville came to mind. Dr. Grunheid was a lovely person. Bev, Tom, Pam and Lisa, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

So sad to say good buy to such a wonderful person. Barney was one of my dads very best friends as they practiced Dentistry around the corner from each other in Northville and shared much free time together. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family, God Bless

Dr Grunheid was my dentist for many many years. He was caring and very sweet. So nice that he was able to enjoy retirement. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I was very priviliged to have known.. & lifeguarded with Barney @ CAMP DEARBORN. God put a beautiful human being on this earth.."And his name was "BARNEY" Rest in peace !!!!
