Bruce Ader Obituary

Bruce A. Ader, 75, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at his home.

He was born in Morristown, N.J. in 1938. Bruce worked in the International Union of operating Engineers 825. Upon retiring they relocated to Lowell. He was an avid racing enthusiast. In earlier days, he would travel to many a raceway to see the action. Unfortunately, his health re-stricted the travel but you always knew where he'd be when the race was on - watching it on the big screen. Mr. Bruce was a friendly guy - "The unofficial mayor of River Falls" who sat on the front porch in his rocking chair along with his wife and dog waving to everyone who passed by.

Please join us on Saturday, March 22nd at 2 p.m. at the Westview Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in Bessemer City to honor Bruce's life.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Carol; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Sharon; daughter, Lisa; two brothers, one sister, 2 grandchildren, several nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews; Bruce is also survived by his cherished sister-in-law, Margaret Barker and her husband, Bob.

In lieu of flowers, please respect his wishes for donations to be sent to: St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital - PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 or by telephone (800) 822-6344.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.

Condolences may be made online at www.greenefuneral.com.

So sorry to read about Bruce. Another Califon native gone but never forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Hang onto your memories, write the good ones down, dig out old pictures, these things have helped me with my John's passing and while God calls our loved one home, he leaves us all these precious memories. RIP Bruce, say hi to John for me!

Dearest Unc - I will miss you terribly! You were always there for me as a child / teenager / young and old adult. My most precious memory is of you walking me down the aisle on my wedding day. Thank you so very much for moving down to NC and being such a huge part of my Sam's life. Thank you for bringing my Auntie and my Brucie closer to me and my family. Me and Brian will be there for them - whatever they need - whenever they need.
I love you so very much
Love - Nancy
