Darrell Callais Obituary
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday, July 6, at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday, July 7, at St. Louis Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Darrell A. Callais Jr. and fiancee, Teensie, and Cody A. Callais; grandchildren, Heather Callais and fiance, Todd Aucoin, Hunter and Jamie Callais, and Kelsey and Bethany Pierre; great-grandchildren, Addyson, Ryleigh and Gaige Aucoin; brothers-in-law, David Leonard and wife, Claudia, Thomas Leonard and wife, Roxanne, Timothy and Patrick Leonard; sister-in-law, Sheila L. Brasseaux; and numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Judith Marie Leonard Callais; parents, Octave Joseph Jr. and Vera Allemand Callais; son, Kerry J. Callais; in-laws, L.J. and Mary Hazel Eskind Leonard; and brother-in-law, Danny Brasseaux Sr.
Darrell was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also shooting his pistols. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend who will be greatly missed by all.

Missing and thinking alot about him. We were very close. We were practically raised together growing up. He was the best cousin you could have. He was literally my best friend and miss him alot. He loved his family so much. Now hes with his wife and 1 son and His parents Uncle Octave and Aunt Vera. Love and miss them all. You are sadly missed by alot of family and friends. RIP my dear cousin. Love ya.

I am going to miss one of my best freinds. Darrell and I grew up together and even went to high school together..remembering the good times we had as children and then as adults with our children being born a day or a few weeks apart.. You are going to be sadly missed cuz... R.I.P. and know you were loved...
