Ernest Gremillion Obituary

Ernest J. "E.J." Gremillion, 88, a native and resident of Larose, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Hazel T. Gremillion; sons, Steven Gremillion and wife, Susan, Ernie Gremillion and wife, Melanie, Richard Gremillion and wife, Deanie; sister, Joyce G. Mostyn; grandchildren, Gregory "Greg" Gremillion, Joel Gremillion and wife, Elekcra, Jenna Gremillion, Ava Gremillion, Joni Gremillion, Kati Gremillion; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Stella Gremillion; brothers, Irvin Gremillion and Dudley Gremillion; sisters, Agnes G. Gautreaux, Lois G. Savoie, Wina G. Terrebonne and Gladys Gremillion.
He is best remembered by family and friends for his inventive mind, and he held numerous U.S. Patents.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the first Lafourche Parish Levee Board and the first Greater Lafourche Port Commission.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
