Everett Clause

Everett "E.J." Clause Sr., 93, a native of Belle Rose and resident of Labadieville, died at 9:12 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2012.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Philomena Church in Labadieville. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his son, Everett Clause Jr. and wife, Cecile Blanchard Clause, and Curtis Clause and wife, Margie Toups Clause; daughter, Connie Oubre; sister, Rae Rita Acosta; and nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian "Mim" Bernard Clause; parents, Rene' Clause and Florence Bergeron Clause; son-in-law, Alvin Oubre; brothers, Herman and Russell Clause; and sisters, Mildred Turner, Thelma Naquin, Effie Healey and Dolores Lockhart.

The family would like to thank Haydel Memorial Hospice and Mrs. Clause's wonderful sitters Ethel Himel, Jenny Himel, Erica Lovell and Rose Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society and St. Joseph Abbey in Covington.

Landry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Curtis, Margie and girls; Everette, Cecile and boys; Connie and children, and whole family...

Sorry I could not be at services today but know that I have been thinking about you all weekend and pray that God give you His peace in your time of grief for your beloved father and grandfather. I know how much you all loved him and will miss him. To the grandchildren-ya'll had the best grandparents children could ask for living right there with you all and I know you appreciated it. GOd BLess YOu all. With much love and prayers.

I am so sorry about your Dad's death. He lived a long life, literally, surrounded by his family. I know I will be unable to make it to the wake or service, but wish for all of you to know that Peachy and I have you all in our prayers. God Bless!
