Fay Chauvin Obituary

Fay Joseph Chauvin, 95, a native of Montegut and resident of Houma, died at 12:02 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Monday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery II.
He is survived by his son, Fay "Joe" Chauvin and wife, Linda, of Missouri City, Texas; daughters, Sibyl Chauvin Maier and late husband, Doug Maier, of Houma, Elouise Chauvin, of Joelton, Tennessee, Harriet Chauvin Wright and husband, Thomas L. Wright, of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Aimee Chauvin Lasseigne and husband, Dr. Richard Lasseigne Jr., of Thibodaux; brother-in-law, Thomas Robichaux and wife, Rita Robichaux, of Raceland; grandchildren, Michael Maier, Michelle Maier Siegel, Mark Maier, Jeannine Gesser Ford, Margaret Wright, Elizabeth Wright, William Wright, Dr. Brad Chauvin, Richard Lasseigne III, Jeremy Lasseigne, and Jeffrey Lasseigne; and great-grandchildren, Mark Anthony Maier II, Matthew Maier, Michael Maier, Samantha Siegel, Eric Thomas Chauvin II, Adysen Chauvin, Landon Lasseigne, and Noah Lasseigne.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, Agatha Robichaux Chauvin; parents, Flavius Joseph Chauvin and Josephine Ellender Chauvin; brothers, Charles and William Chauvin; sisters, Maude Chauvin Decoux, Catherine Chauvin, and Ruth Chauvin Pellegrin; and grandchild, Eric Thomas Chauvin.
Fay was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. He loved to travel in his motor home. He also loved volunteering for the Catholic churches and schools. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his Wednesday Burger King buddies. He was a member of the VFW and the Knights of Columbus. For many years, he attended the yearly reunions with his U.S. Army friends and colleagues.
