Irene Landry Obituary

Irene Landry, 101, a native of St. Charles Community and resident of Thibodaux, passed away on Nov. 20, 2018.

A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the Memorial Mass at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, at St. John Catholic Church in Thibodaux. Interment will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Thibodaux.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Broussard (Warren), Teresa Hoffmann (Leland), Rose Colley (B.G.); her brother, Emile Richard; 10 grandchildren, Dawn Lockwood, Deborah Palmer, Keith Broussard, Kevin Broussard, Celeste Lirette, Becky Hoffmann-Spears, Abby Thibaut, Tiffany Kendrick, Brian Colley, and Todd Colley; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Landry; her parents, Eugene and Nora LeBlanc Richard; an infant daughter; and brothers, Linton Richard, Mick Richard, James Richard and Norbert Richard.

Irene was a faithful parishioner and volunteer for 72 years at St. John Catholic Church. She was an avid gardener, and a 4 H volunteer who taught many girls to sew.

The family would like to thank Haydel Memorial Hospice for the wonderful care given to Irene, as well as, Wade and Lolla Richard for their continuous help and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church is requested.

Landry's Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
