John Picou Obituary
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 13, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the service to start at 11 a.m., at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue. Burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife and love of his life, Thelma Rodrigue Picou; children, Rachel Picou Authement (Van Domangue), Cyrus Picou (Vivian), Cathy Cantrelle (Buddy), Randy Picou (April), Sally Picou (Craig Blanchard), Sara Mikkelsen (Edwin), and Reva Folse (Jamie); his loving sister, Winnie Thibodeaux; 18 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and his lifelong friend, Olan Trahan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph "T-Joe" and Viola Chaisson Picou; mother and father-in-law, Wallace Sr. and Agnes Rodrigue; brothers, Justin Picou from Cameron; and Calvin Floyd Picou Sr. from Boug; sisters, Thelma Acosta from Raceland; Hazel Jones from Houston; Maggie Ougal from Houma; and Shirley Crothers from Bourg; and son-in-law, Arthur "T-Black" Authement from Bayou Blue.
He was an Air Force veteran. He was long time member of the Church of Christ and loved preaching the word of God.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samart Funeral Home in Bayou Blue for funeral expenses.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue is in charge of arrangements.

It still doesn't feel real that you're gone. Feels like I'm in a dream that i can't wake up from.. Miissing you so much already Daddy. Been feeling like i have to go check up on you at the hospital for Mom.. You have taught me so much throughout my life & i wanna thank you for everything you have done for me.. You don't have to worry about Mom cause as you already know she'll be well taken care of. Just wanna say i have you to thank for being the woman i am today. Thanks for always having my back no matter what. You was deeply loved & will be greatly missed... Your daughter
