Joseph Parfait Obituary
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday, June 8, at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday, June 9, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Dulac. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Johnny (Carol) Parfait, of Watson, Malcolm (Gloria) Parfait, of Houma, Lonnie (Shelia) Parfait, of Celebration Station, Florida, Karl (Deanna) Parfait, of Houma, and Kerry Parfait, of Houma; daughters, Donna (Hank) Verdin, of Dulac, Penny (Perry) Pellegrin, of Bayou Blue, Pam (Irvin) Carlos, of Dulac, Myra (Kevin) Christen, of Houma, Juliana (John) Williams, of Houma, and Mary (Albert) Scott, of Houma; brother, Oris Parfait; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ouida Ernestine Parfait; parents, Alidore and Francis Parfait; daughter, Valerie Ann Parfait; brothers, Irvin and Clarence Parfait; sisters, Antoinette Foret, Lucretia and Joyce Parfait and Clara Dion; and grandson, Hank "T-Hank" Verdin.
Joseph was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a loving father and grandfather. He cherished his grandchildren and all of his family. He enjoyed painting religious statues and working outdoors in the yard with flowers. He enjoyed watching wrestling on TV. He was a retired boat captain and trawler.
The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Manor in Houma, especially the nurses, CNA's and the physical therapy department. They would also like to thank Dr. Ray Cinnater, Nancy Warren and Dr. Craig Wade.
