Louis Ordoyne Obituary
Louis J. Ordoyne, born on October 20, 1921, a native and resident of Thibodaux passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the age of 99.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Thibodaux Funeral Home from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am at Thibodaux Funeral Home. Interment will follow at his mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.
He is survived by his devoted nieces and nephews, Allen Clement (Mary), Theresa C. Duplantis (Donald), Louella C. Lambert (companion Errol Dumont), Michael Clement, and Bruce Clement (Lisa).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Emma Pitre Ordoyne; six sisters, Edith Ordoyne, Florence Adams (Walter), Leona Clement (Oneil), Edna Ordoyne, Armantine Ordoyne, and Albertine Ordoyne; and two nephews, Alton Adams and Hilton Adams.
Louis spent most of his career as a laborer for Southdown Sugars near Thibodaux. He was promoted to overseer of Orange Grove Plantation during their last years of operation. Following Southdown's shutdown, he worked for E.A. Breaux delivering Exxon products to service stations in the Thibodaux area until his retirement at age 70.
The family would like to thank the staff at Haydel's Hospice for the excellent care they provided to our uncle in his final days among us.
