Melva Cressionie Obituary
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland and from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Gheens Presbyterian Church. Religious services will be at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Janet "Chee Chee" Breaux (Lynn), Kendrick Cressionie (Maxine), Joan Griffin (Harris); daughter-in-law, Sharon Cressionie; brother, Woodrow "Butch" Dufrene; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Cressionie; son, Billy Cressionie; parents, Walter and Lena Falgout Dufrene; brothers, Edison "Sonny" Dufrene, Robert "Bob" Dufrene, Eroy Dufrene and one grandchild.
Melva was a member of LVFC Club Gheens Chapter, Bible School Teacher, Elder and session clerk at Gheens Presbyterian Church and board member of Vacherie-Gheens Community Center.
Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.

My deepest sympathies to Melva's family!! She was a good friend of mine and a classmate ofmy mother. I will always treasure our telephone conversions and especially our short chats before she talked with Mother every Sunday afternoon when she was bedridden. Mel was a wonderful mentor to everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed but her memory will be with us forever. Rest In Peace my dear friend and give my mother a hug for me❤❤❤❤❤❤

Chee, I'm so sorry to hear the sad news. Your mom was such a wonderful, giving person. Now she can serve as yet another angel in Heaven along with your dad and Aaron as they help God keep watch over everyone they have so loved. My prayers remain with you and your entire family.
