Stephen Inabnet Obituary
Stephen Thomas Inabnet, 38, of Gonzales, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the visitation from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday conducted by Rev. Eric Gyan. Interment will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery in Prairieville.
He is survived by a daughter, Delaney Grace Inabnet; son, Aidan Joseph Inabnet, both of St. Amant; former wife, Kelli O'Donohue Inabnet; parents, Gene and Sherry Inabnet of Geismar; sister, Nikki Inabnet Rispone; nephew, Jacob Rispone of Gonzales; godparents, Wade LeMaire and Blondie LeMaire of Cow Island; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leopold and Blanche LeMaire of Forked Island; and paternal grandmother, Verna Vidacovich of Gretna.
Stephen was a graduate of Vandebilt Catholic High School in Houma and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. Stephen was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He was employed by Hertz Equipment Rentals.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.autismspeaks.org.
Condolences may be offered to the family at www.oursofh.com.
Ourso Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

What a beautiful family having to go through this. I am so sad and so sorry for your loss. I graduated from High school with Stephen and always remembered that he was a happy guy with a big smile on his face! I am so sorry for your loss! Just wanted you all to know you guys are in my thoughts. I wish that I would have been able to express to you all this in person.
There is never a good time to lose such an important person, but I hope your memories will guide and hold you guys together in this challenging times.
I have some great memories with the family! I can just picture Stephen in his Vandy uniform in the living room while I was causing chaos (I am sure). I always used to refer to him as Brother Stephen because I never had an older brother. He was such a great guy and I truly respect him for everything he has done in his time here.
I know it will be a hard road ahead but I hope you all find the strength to get through this together!

God Our Father's power brings us to birth, His providence guides our lives, and by His command we return to dust.
I pray for Steven, and for those who are dear to me, grieving the lost of this precious young sole.
Steven is not alone. Those who have gone before, met him at The Gate... Leopold, Blanche, Verna, Elenore and Junior. They guided Steven into God's presence, and had the joy of seeing that beautiful smile, and looking into those shining eyes again.
Steven exists in God's presence now, his life has changed but not ended. He lives in the hearts of all who knew him, and we will forever take him with us wherever we tread.
He is in the company of Christ. May we rejoice in Christ's kingdom, where all our tears are wiped away. In time, our God will unite us together again, as one family, and we will sing praises forever and ever.

To My Extended Family,
There are obviously no words in the English language to capture the pain we all feel, any words to describe how special Stephen was, or how much he meant to us all. I can only imagine the sorrow you feel and wish I could take it away. However, I do find peace knowing that he is with God and I know he is smiling and watching out for us all. Anyone who had the honor of knowing my best friend, my brother, knows how great a person he was. I am so honored and thankful to have had him in my life. He will be missed greatly and by many. He was the best friend anyone could ever hope to have. The bond that Stephen and I shared is one that cannot be broken, not even by death. The bond Stephen created between you all and myself also cannot be broken. I will be here for you all always. You are my family.
P.S. The bookies in Vegas better take into consideration that there is another angel up there in Purple & Gold on Saturdays and Black & Gold on Sundays!

Thanks for so many awesome times, words of encouragement, being my confidant, being loyal, laughing at my at my goofy humor, being there ANY time I needed you, and simply being you. I will miss you dearly but I will smile when I think of you. Sure, this is going to be extremely difficult to handle but I know you will be looking over me and your family to help us make it through, like you always have. I am so very sorry for the loss of Stephen....I am just heartbroken as I keep thinking of him and how tragic this news is...I am reflecting on all the good times we shared at Vandebilt and at LSU. and how I am lucky enough to have photographs that commerate these times.... Homecoming Court, Close Up, the day it snowed, school dances, LSU games, etc.
I was fortunate enough to have known Stephen for quite some time and I know he will surely be missed by so all who knew him...

I keep seeing Stephen in his imperial soldier costume and riding his bike for the first time. It feels like yesterday. I don't know how he can be gone so soon.
