Susan "Pixie" Gouaux, 61, a native of Galliano and resident of Lockport, passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport, with a private burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived her husband, L. Phillip Gouaux Jr.; daughters, Dionne O'Brien and husband, Jay, Andrea Gouaux, Jeanne Gouaux, Louise Lawson and husband, Isaiah, Aimee O'Gwynn and husband, Michael, and Mattie Gouaux and companion, Kimberly Chiasson; grandchildren, Andrew, Jayden, Molly, Maycee, Connor, Samantha, Katelyn, Peter Henry, Megan, Luke, Mallory, Alex and Ledger; brothers, Bobby Rousse and Richard Sumrall; father and mother-in-law, Louis and Evelyn Gouaux; and aunts, Daisy Griffin and husband, Gus, and Lola Brown and husband, Francis.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edless Rouse; and mother and stepfather, Marilyn Pitre Sumrall and Ray Sumrall.
She was a founding member of Bayou Lafourche Folklife Heritage Museum, and they had their first meeting at her kitchen table. She was a member of the Women's Club of Lockport, Lion's Club member and a beloved teacher's aide at Holy Savior School.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to Holy Savior School.
Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport is in charge of arrangements.
