Cathy and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I graduated with Val at RHS and he was a kind, sweet, friendly, well-liked, caring young man and I am sure he continued his life's journey in this manner. I know y'all will miss him immensely but God needed another angel and knew that it was time to relieve Val of his pain. We know that Val is resting in peace in God's loving arms. I will keep him and all his family in my prayers.

Although Val and I are first cousins, I have not seen him in many years. I remember playing together as children and Val always being very nice, kind, and lots of fun. On the few infrequent times we saw each other as married adults, Val and Cathy were incredibly warm and welcoming. Reading the many tributes to Val reflects how much he was loved, admired and respected. My thoughts and prayers are with Cathy and the Rein family at this time. May God bless you all at this difficult time.

We have lost a friend. For the 40+ years that I've known Val he has been an inspiration in his examples of kindness, generosity, thoughtfulness, and faith. He will be missed of course as we all go forth keeping his memory and sincerity close to our hearts. Please know that I will be with all of you in spirit.

As we created a photo transfer of Val's life I thought, "Is this what a man's life comes to?" A 17 minute summary? But as I scanned, cropped, color corrected and edited I realized that the photographs depicted a wonderful life spent with family and friends. He was blessed in so many ways, as were we all for having known him!
