Sometimes the words at times like this are hard to find. And this was a lesson that I learn from Pastor and it was just to listen . Listen to other and to Listen to God as his word reminds us that he will never leave us.Pastor said to us on several occasions" I've hit rock bottom and found the Rock was solid" now it may seem that we who loved him as our Pastor, Leader and teacher are feeling that we've felt rock bottom, but as he reminded us "that Rock is Solid"

Evangelist Dr. Ella Townsend

April 18, 2014

The late Rev.E.D. & Carolyn Townsend family members from Granger, Texas, send their love and prayers out to Dr. Patterson's beloved wife and children, friends, and church family.
Dr. Patterson "Bootney" as he was known to us, was truly a gifted spiritual man of God. The Patterson and Townsend families grew up together and lived across the street from each other, and we all attended St. Love-All Baptist Church together in Granger, TX., many, many years ago.
In all of his fame, Dr. Patterson never forgot from whence he came, or his childhood friends. He never lost contact with our family. He and my oldest brother and sisters were childhood friends. During the time of my brother's death five year ago, although, Dr. Patterson was unable to attend his funeral, his phone calls of comfort to our family were enough... We will truly miss him.
May God Himself comfort the hearts, minds, souls, and spirits, of the Patterson family members, friends, church members, and all of us during this time of their/our great loss.
Our loss is God's gain of a faithful true servant-leader of God.

Other than my own father, Pastor Patterson left a distinct image of what a man should be. He taught me so much about our Lord Jesus Christ and I use many of his lessons in my conversations with my family and students. He baptized me and my son and that is a joy that I will always treasure. He ministered to my father, Rufus Steward, during his illness, as well as led my mother, Naomi Steward, and my brothers Calvin and Rufus Jr. for many years. He was always my Pastor.
