Abel Hernandez, 77, of Houston, Texas entered into eternal life on Friday, February 19, 2016. He was born on April 30, 1938 in Waco, Texas to Margarito and Leonor Hernandez. Abel is survived by daughters Linda Wells and husband James, and Theresa Garcia and husband Joseph Anthony; grandchildren Joseph Jr., Melanie and husband Calvin, Danielle, Kristen, James Abel, and Kimberly. Abel is preceded in death by his wife Susie, and his parents Margarito and Leonor. Abel was a Methodist minister. He was a member of El Mesias United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men, and Old Timers Club of Houston. He was also a member of numerous other organizations, and gave his time volunteering at M.D. Anderson and the YMCA. Services for Abel will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, with the visitation on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., and the funeral at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Garden of Memories.
