Angie,
My condolences go out to you on the loss of your husband. I can only image the loss, sorrow, grief and pain you must be enduring. You gave Al all of your love, caring, compassion and strength. You were with Al through the good times...and there were plenty!! I remember the smiles and loving glances that you and Al shared when we went out dancing, out to dinner, attended family parties and just visiting. Al was always the center of the party making sure that everyone had a good time...especially his Angie.
You were also with Al through the not so good times. You nursed Al through all the years he suffered with cancer. You made Al's last years bearable and as comfortable as possible. Al knew that if he wanted or needed anything, all he had to do was say it and it was done. You always went out of your way to make him happy...especially going to feed the dogs (inside joke). I saw you...always at his side holding his hand, giving him a kiss and telling him you loved him.
Andrew and Alexis were so dear to Al. He always told me how "smart" they were and how they always were there to tell him "I love you grandpa!". They brought him so much happiness. Al spent so much time with them teaching them about life. His last trip home meant so much to both Al and the grandchildren. I remember both Andrew and Alexis hugging their grandpa...telling him to get well and that they loved him.
Our prayers will be with you, Carmen, Andrew, Alexis, Damon and the family during this difficult time. Remember...God never gives us more than we can bear. Never forget that you loved Al with your whole heart, Al knew it and he loved you too!!
Al was loved and he will be missed by the whole family.
Last, I will never forget the one thing that Al asked of me (besides the margaritas). Al said "Take care of my Angie! She is always taking care of me and she deserves to have someone to take care of her. Some times I have bad days and it shows...but my Angie...she never leaves my side".
We love you very much!!
