1947-2018
Alice Lee Visage Engelbrink, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, stepmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on Thursday, Sept 6, 2018 in Houston, Texas. Alice dedicated her life to her family. Her cheerfulness and joy was contagious to anyone she met. She enjoyed nothing more than hosting large gatherings and spending time with her loving family. She loved playing bridge, reading, taking bike rides, going on long walks, or just simply sitting and talking with family or friends. Alice was born in Laredo, Texas on March 10, 1947. She graduated from St. Mary's Girl Academy and the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. In addition, she attended the University of Houston prior to receiving her CPA. Her joy for life was also evident in her business; she served hundreds of clients for over 30 years and did so with a smile that will be remembered always.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Engelbrink, son Eric Engelbrink, son Ethan Engelbrink, his wife Julia and his family. Stepdaughters, Laurel Martin and Sharon Fisher and her daughter Jennifer and her two sons, Miles and Mason, and sister Anita Becker and her husband Jerry and their two daughters, Jennifer May and Laura McMillan and her husband Thomas. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel J. Visage and Mary Alice Nolan Visage, and by her brother, Jack Visage.
Services will be Thursday, September 13, at ten o'clock in the morning at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2140 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas. A reception will immediately follow the service for friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any memorial gifts be made to the Mischer Neuroscience Institute at Memorial Herman to further advance their research in brain tumors.

Wonderful mother and friend. We would talk for hours and her wisdom meant everything. Her beautiful sons Eric And Ethan were her life. I'm so sorry Eric and Ethan. You are in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Alice Engelbrink, CPA.
She did my taxes for 20 or 21 years. I enjoyed visiting with her when I dropped off my documents when she was located at the Jones Rd. location.
She was always friendly and professional. She will be missed.

My son, Ian, and I are shocked and deeply sorry to learn of the death of our new friend and great help. When our husband and father, Winston Rutherford Ellis, died in March we were recommended to Engelbrink Associates for help, and we received it. Such sad news today. Alice has taken care of my tax needs for over 30 years. I've always enjoyed our annual visit as well as conversations between them. She also took care of my fathers business both before and after his passing. When I received the letter today I thought to myself the timing is off. Alice must be retiring. Ethan I am so sorry for your families loss and the fact that you had to write that letter. A friend of mine told me on my fathers passing that the passing of our parents in the only thing in life that we know is coming, have our entire lives to prepare for but are completely devastated when the time comes. That is because our parents are our foundation. Regardless of the forewarning, having that very foundation take out from under use is simply earth shattering. We are what our parents made us and they will always live through us.

Ethan and Julia, My heart is so saddened to learn of Alice's death. I have such fond memories of being room mother's together at St. Michael's and watching our kids and all their activities. I always admired her ability to stay calm and focused. My prayers are with you, your children and family. I am so sorry I cannot attend her service, but will there in spirit and have a Mass said for her at the Village. I send love to you,
