Arthur Purvis Obituary

ARTHUR FERRELL PURVIS, 65 passed away Saturday, January 29, 2005 in Houston. Ferrell was preceded in death by his father, J.H. Purvis and brother Pearce Purvis. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Louise; daughters, Ann Austin and husband Mark West, Connie Hendrix and husband Bill, Ruby Gail Pekola and husband Lenny, Susan Harrelson, Cheri Coleman and husband Dana, Janis Wright and husband James, Mary Jo Kasperek; sons, Douglas Barron and wife Pat, Arthur Purvis, Jr. and wife Michelle, Steven Burke, Timothy Burke and wife Joann, Thomas Burke and wife Pamela, Daniel Burke and wife Angela; mother, Duffie Marzine Purvis; sister, Gayle Koonce; brother, Dale Purvis; 38 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and numerous loving family member and friends. He was a 3rd Degree Master Mason and a choir member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday, January 30 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a Vigil service at 5:00 pm at Earthman Resthaven 13102 North Freeway, Houston 77060. Celebration of Life Mass will be held Monday, January 31, Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 19222 Tomball Parkway, Houston 77070 at 12 Noon.

Louise, I was so sorry to hear about Ferrell. Even though I only met him a couple of times - I knew he was special. And I know he was very special to you. May God give you peace and comfort in your time of grief.

It is with just a twinkle of the eye that people seem to pass through our lives, and touch us with their caring and love. That is my memory of Ferrell and his loving smile and great wit. Louise, we are seldom blessed twice, but you and I have had that special blessing
