Bahadur Agha Obituary

Bahadur Agha
03/23/1939 - 03/29/2025
Today, Bahadur Agha, son of Agha Mustafa Hussain, departed for his heavenly abode. A son of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India to Indian-Iranian parents, he took on the mantle of the family after losing his father at 26. His time as an architectural designer took him around the world, particularly Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

In 1974, he and his wife moved to Queens, New York to work for Walter P. Moore. It was during this time that he designed such structures as the Ronald Reagan National Airport main terminal in Washington, D.C., the Texas A&M University Park in Houston, and the Equinix Infomart building in Dallas. In 1975, they welcomed a son, Aamer and in 1976, a daughter, Samira. He moved his family again, this time to Houston, TX in 1978. He sponsored his siblings and in-laws, eventually becoming a pioneer of South Asian immigration to Houston. In the mid-1980s he supported his brother Saeed in starting 59 Minute Photo, a photoshop and photography service on Westheimer which still stands today.

He is survived by his wife, Meraj, his brothers, Saeed, Waheed and Sarwar Agha, his sister, Shabnam Mustafa, his children, Aamer Agha and Samira Hassan, and his grandchildren, Ahmed Agha, Ali Agha, Sammar Agha, Raza Waqif, and Salman Waqif.

A gentle spirited man that will be greatly missed. My husband, Anwar Abbas and I travelled with Bahadar Agha and his lovely wife Meraj on a European River Cruise in 2016. He taught me how to play bridge and we laughed and enjoyed that trip so much. May Allah keep him in the palm of His mighty hand. -Mariam Abbas

Chote Bhaiya ( Bahadur Agha) truly represent this poetry.
His life seems to have been one of immense strength, dedication, and generosity-not just in his professional achievements but in his unwavering support for his family and extended family from his very early age. The way he lived and left this world with dignity and surrounded by loved ones is truly inspiring.
We should write a book about him, it would be a beautiful way to honor his legacy and ensure that his story continues to inspire others. May Allah SWT grant him the highest ranks in Jannah.
I will miss you a lot Chote Bhaiya
