1928-2022
Beatrice Maud Vatcher Shelly, age 94, of Lovelady, formerly of Friendswood, Texas passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. Bea was born January 19, 1928 in Quebec, Canada to parents, James Robert Vatcher and Mary Mansbridge Vatcher. She worked in South America as a nurse with the Missionary Sisters, was a homemaker and a longtime member of St. Francis of the Tejas Catholic Church.
Bea is survived by sons, James Shelly, Jr. of Lovelady, John Lawrence Shelly of Lovelady; brothers and sisters, Allan Vatcher of Quebec, George Vatcher of Quebec, Hilda Vatcher Gallichon of Quebec, Elizabeth Vatcher Cormier of Quebec; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by husband, James E. Shelly, Sr.; son, Patrick Shelly; brothers and sister, Thomas Vatcher, Robert Vatcher, Doreen Vatcher Allard; and parents, James Robert and Mary Vatcher.
Funeral Mass for Beatrice Maud Vatcher Shelly will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the St. Francis of the Tejas Catholic Church with Father Joby Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Lovelady Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening with the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Francis of the Tejas Catholic Church, 609 North 4th St. Crockett, TX 75835. Online condolences may be left at www.callawayallee.com
