Words truly can not express how one feels when a parent, sibling, child, or close friend has passed away. Know that God's Word is true when He says He will never leave us nor forsake us. Our love ones are given to us for only a moment but if we follow God and His Word know that we are promised to join Him one day for eternity. I did not know Mr. Swain personally but I work with Cynthia and she is one of the nicest persons I have ever worked with. Knowing her and how caring she is only leaves me to believe she had wonderful, caring, and loving parents. May God comfort you and your family during your time of loss.

To Coach Swain's Family: I am so sorry to hear about Coach Swain's passing. I left Houston in 1968 but when I would return in the summer we would meet up at the gym for basketball. All my brothers, Thomas, John, J.C., and Donald Washington, were coached by Coach Swain. My sisters knew him also. May all the inspiration and lessons he passed on to others, be a comfort to you in your time of sorrow. He will be missed.

Our days at Lincoln were the most memoriable of my life. It was a time when whites, blacks, browns all came together as a true family. It was Coach Swain that helped us to respect one another and to look beyond a persons color. I owe my life to Coach Swains teachings and competitiveness. May the Good Lord Bless your family, Coach, in their hour of grief. You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten.

"High and Mighty, we are the class of 1990". Being the youngest sibling of 6 to attend Jesse H. Jones, there are so many memories I could share about Coach Swain; Our Annual Alfreda's dinner after our regularly scheduled tournament in LaPorte to his Retiring of his jersey @ Texas Southern University. He coached my oldest brother until he graduated in 1985(I was an honorary ballboy) and stayed on as coach until after I graduated in 1990. His humor was so real and unrivaled! I will miss Coach Swain and on behalf of the Jordan6, we want to express our deepest empathy to the entire Swain family. He will be missed. CLASS OF 1990!!

Mr. Swain was my teacher, mentor, advisor, father figure, I often quote advice he gave me as a student, his teaching, in your face when you were on the wrong path, and I've got your back when you were in the right always remained with me. I am blessed to have crossed paths with such and outstanding person. he is gone from this life, but as the many entries in this book shows he will never ever be forgotten. Rest in Peace Bennie Swain for you have surely earned it.

To the Swain family. It hurt to have heard of Coach Swains passing because he was a mentor to my son, Henry Thomas Jr. at Jones High Scool. He taught him everything that he knows about basketball and taught him about life. Coach Swain was there for guidance for Henry's two sisters as well. Just be strong, God will see youall through this. I know from experience, I lost a granddaugther in 2005 at the age of 12, it still seems like yesterday. When I get sad I ask God to just give me the strength that I need to accept what he has allowed. So, youall do the same because he is right by your side. Just hold on. You will continue to be in my prayers.
