Bernice Lipkin

BERNICE GARDNER LIPKIN, died December 26, 2012 She was born in St. Paul Minnesota January 8, 1922 to I.H. and Lorraine Gardner. She met and married her husband Alton in 1945, and they had a spicy marriage for 67 years. In 1947 they moved to Houston and together built the very successful Gardner Restaurant Supply. She was an active member of Congregation Emanu El and proudly served as Sisterhood president. Bernice was a bright woman who read voraciously, enjoyed monitoring finances for her investment group, loved bridge, mahjong, and poker, and in earlier years loved to go dancing and play golf. She will be remembered for her flawless complexion, her impressive organizational skills, her impeccable taste, and her unbelievable green thumb She is survived by her husband Alton, her brother and sister in law Justin and Linda Gardner, son Mark Lipkin, daughter Lynn Segal and her grandchildren Scott Meyers, Meredith Meyers Sansbury and husband Norman, Allyson Kitching and husband Davey, and Michael Lipkin and wife Kelly. Bernice adored her great grandchildren Olivia Meyers, Gavin Sansbury, Riley Sansbury, and Lauren Olivia Lipkin. She is predeceased by grandchild Lauren Lipkin Orton and son in law Allen Segal. Services will be officiated by Rabbi Roy Walter at Emanu El Memorial Park 8341 Bissonnet St, Friday, December 28 at 3:30P.
