Bessie Green of Deer Park, TX passed Away October 21, 2025, with family by her side. She was born in Malakoff, Texas on June 25, 1953, to Elmer and Lorraine Rhoades. They moved to Pasadena, TX when she was young and she graduated from Pasadena High School Class of 1972. She worked at The Houston Chronicle for 37 years where she created millions of ads for the Houston community, retired from there in 2018 as the Multimedia Coordinator and made a second family of friends. She was a longtime member of the local Weight Watchers' group where she made a lifetime of friends. She was a huge Houston Astros fan and attended many games through the years. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend that will be greatly missed. She had a loving and outgoing personality that never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her father Elmer and mother Lorraine Rhoades, brother James Rhoades and sister Linda Rhoades.
She is survived by husband James Green, daughter Juliana Green and grand dog Charlie. Her brother Jim and wife Sharon Rhoades. Niece Jennifer and husband Adam Copelin and great niece Elizabeth. Niece Jamie and husband Bubba Rasmussen. Great nieces Marci and Jaylinn Montiel. Great nephew Juan Montiel. Great great niece Jasanni and many friends. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Veterans Funeral Services 10567 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Tx 77038. Visitation starts at 11:30 AM and services start at 1:00 PM.
