My Radio Guy Bud had a show here on WJLD The Night Train (Birmingham Ala) I discovered by mistake he played Saturday Night Fish Fry by Louis Jordan blew my mind i quickly became a fan. So I Star to listen every Saturday night for years and some reason the program was pulled and it really bothered me !!! So I started a petition which many of my colleagues and musician friends all signed I had about 3 pages of signatures I passed them on to ABC Music WJLD and others within a few weeks Night Train was back on the air !! I received a Thank you card and gift signed Musicologist Bud Buschardt with his contact # which I still have in my phone every time I was near Texas I would call him no matter what he was doing he would always talk to me if he missed my call it would say Texas University on the caller ID or the land line!! I noticed the phone quit ringing the last time we talked was when the bad storm came across Texas he insured me that the storm had passed him by but he always asked how was I doing I would say much better now because I heard your voice and now learning why I haven´t heard it lately. I will truly miss you and all the jacket #s and year recorded he knew his stuff about Music !!! RIP MY DEAR FRIEND Musicologist!!!!

I first became aware of you in the 70's as the 'go-to' guy for music lovers' questions. What a lofty place to reign in the minds and hearts of your friends, neighbors, and community. You brought immense joy. An extra bonus for me was getting to know Carter Burckhardt! He maybe the funniest guy I ever met and a gentleman, too. Did he get those qualities from you? Bless you. Rest in heavenly peace.

Rest In Peace Musicologist Bud Buschardt. I first became aware of him in the 70’s in DFW when he did a Sunday oldies radio show and he was a fountain of knowledge on music and artists. I spoke to him when I worked at KLTY in Dallas in the early 2000’s and we reminisced about those days. He was a consummate professional.
