Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We are so thankful to you, Shawn, for sharing your family with us. Your dad was one of the most genuine people we have ever known. We will definitely miss his insightful e-mails and jokes - always giving us pause for reflection or a smile for the day - a true extension of his larger than life personality. We are thankful that he is no longer in pain and in a much better place. May God bless the days and weeks ahead as you remember his wonderful stories and strong love for each one of you.

Shawn my deepest sympathy to you and your whole family. Al was the person who hired me 30+ years ago with CAMCO and started my career. Al is also the person that lectured me for days, about being late for a job. Since that lecturing, I have not been late for work again, that was 29 years ago. That is the impact Al had on people, he told you straight, treated you with respect, and "Always" left you smiling. I will think of him often.

In conversations with former work associates we agreed that one word that described Al was INTEGRITY.

Shawn, our prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. I was saddened and somewhat surprised at the news. I saw Al at HEB after his stroke, and he looked good and was in, as usual, great spirits. I am now glad I ran into him (almost literally – I wasn’t watching where I was pushing my cart). I am sure it will be repeated a million times, but there are only a few people you are fortunate enough to meet in your lifetime that bring a positive approach to any situation – Al is one of those guys. I am quite certain you would have extreme difficulty finding anyone to say a negative word about Al. From the very first time I met him, he was always friendly and eager to help (and kept me from severe embarrassment more than once). He was a mentor and friend to anyone in need. I am thankful for the opportunity to know him and will always value the friendship we had.

Rhoda, Debby, Alana & Shawn, we all know the wonders of your Dad, God blessed Him from an early age and He passed his blessings onto others throughout His life. We will all miss Him but will walk with Him in the near future and continue laughing together at His jokes and stories as we walk through the gardens. Love and Prayers, so sorry we can't make.

I knew Al nearly from the time I was born. Al and Rhoda were surrogate grandparents to my sister and I while we lived away from the 'home' country in Alaska and in Singapore. We were treated as family and the good memories of our visits and meals together have flooded back since I got the news.
I still have some of the coloured pencils he gave me to keep me busy at his desk while my father and him worked in the back: not many men would keep a 5 year old entertained while business was supposed to be occuring. When my parents had their 25th wedding anniversary Al dug out old photos and took the time to scan them and send them up for the scrapbook my sister and I were compiling as a present. He was thoughtful that way. I'm going to miss him; just knowing he was around was comforting.
To the family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Al was a great man and thanks for sharing him with me and my sister.

Rhoda & Family
It is hard to express our feelings at a time like this,Al was a great brother inlaw and a super husband and father to his family . I will miss his e-mails everyday and his humour of all situations on the phone .I think right now he is teasing mother and she is saying Oh Alan Pace . We will never forget him

It is with deepest sympathy and sadness that I send this message of condolence to all of you. Uncle Alan was my favorite and I had the greatest respect for him. He could find humor in anything! It is apparent he has left quite a mark on many people - what a legacy to be proud of. Hopefully this will bring you some comfort in the days ahead. With many fond memories and prayers.

I met Al before I remember meeting him, he was my dad(Dale Pyne)'s boss in Alaska and Singapore. I last saw him in person in Singapore in the 1980's. I will remember his booming voice and his infectious laughter. Al and Rhoda were my sister and I's stand-in grandparents while ours were in Canada. Al was the best and I think a light of our world has been extinguished with his passing.

Al and I were company associates for many years. I can truly say he is one of the last of the truly "GOOD GUYS" of our era. His likes will not be seen in our lifetime. He never met a man he didn't like and never met a man that did not like him. He was just that type of person and he will be missed by all that knew him.

Sincere prayers and sympathies to Al's family. He will be missed and certainly not forgotten. He was not only a great and dedicated co-worker to all, but a teacher and friend as well. He always "had time for you", no matter how busy he was in his work. I never saw him down, even through illness, but instead, always brought "light" into the room.
