I am so sorry! I just by chance looked for her today on internet when remembering time in Lexington, Kentucky, when I started teaching there, and found Carol and her cellist friend Roberta Guthrie to play trios with. Spending time and playing music was the best part of my time there. Carol's vitality and humor - and enjoyment of music! In about 1985 she drove out to the Houston airport to visit with me when I was though going to Mexico with my two small children -- it was so good to see her. A well-remembered friend! My thoughts are with you, John, and your family.

Dear John and family,
So sorry to read about your loss of Carol Ann. While I never had the privilege of meeting her, I did learn about her and your family when you and I served together on the search committee for UH President, those many years ago. Both my husband and I have been loyal followers of your "Engines" program for years and have attended some of your inspired lectures. Please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of your remarkable wife and mother. Eileen Crowley Reed (formerly of the Greater Houston Partnership) and Ronald Reed
