Charles Spore Memoriam
10/10/1936 - 06/02/2024
Charles (Chuck) Spore was born, the youngest of six children, in Ashland, Ohio on October 10, 1936. He passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024, in Houston, Texas. He spent his career as an interior designer for Sanger Harris Department Store in downtown Dallas, which was acquired by Foley's in 1987. After the merger, he and wife Mary Ellen moved to Houston, where he continued his career as Division Vice President of Home Fashion and Interior Design until his retirement in 2002. He and Mary Ellen enjoyed travel and fine arts. He was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela McQuitty and grandson Anthony Sancho-Spore. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary Ellen Spore, daughter Sudan Spore, son-in-law Jose Sancho and four grandchildren, Brent and Amanda McQuitty, and Christina and Alex Sancho-Spore. A funeral Mass with be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, TX 77079 on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 10:30 AM. Reception will follow.
