Chris Alk Obituary

Christopher Alk
1949-2016
Chris Alk, 66, passed away on January 13 of pancreatic cancer. Chris grew up in Rowayton, CT, and moved to Houston in 1978, where he was a successful small-business owner until he retired in 2012. For many years he was a grillmaster with the Cold River Cattle Company team at the Houston Rodeo World Championship Bar-B-Que Cookoff, where he earned the nickname "The Chicken Man" for his Championship chicken. A long time member of the GBCA, he could often be found at the Seabrook Marina, where he spent time racing sailboats with his friends. Chris is survived by his sister Malvina, her husband Tom and their son Eddie, former wife Sharon Alk, step-children Karyn and Michael Lyons, and an endless supply of loyal, heartbroken friends. People wishing to remember him can post their thoughts at www.forevermissed.com/chrisalk.

"Chris attended Brien McMahon HS in Norwalk, CT, and is where I met and grew up with Chris. Many knew Chris from years past and he was quiet and respected others. I only wish I spent more time with Chris."
