Cooper Knight Obituary
Cooper Douglas knight, born 22 November 2006, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on the evening of 03 March 2011. Cooper struggled in a fight against mitochondrial disease throughout his life that stole energy from his body, but not his spirit. He was a model of strength and courage, and a perfect example of God's wish for us to unconditionally love life and those around us. Cooper was a brilliant shooting star whose existence, though fleeting, inspired many and left a lasting impression on the night sky of our lives but whose beauty and presence will be missed. He is survived by his parents, Sarah & Kevin; his siblings, Caroline, Adam and Oliver; his grandparents, Michael & Valerie Knight (of Oak Ridge, TN) and Susan & Buddy Bollfrass (of Spring, TX); his great-grandmother, Betty Jean Toberman (of Reading, PA); and many cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Barclay Imle.
Visitation with the family will take place the evening of Monday 07 March at the Klein Funeral Home in Champions from 6PM to 8PM, and memorial services on Tuesday 08 March at 10AM at Trinity Episcopal Church in The Woodlands?followed by graveside internment at the Klein Memorial Park in Tomball. The family requests brightly-colored attire in celebration of Cooper's life; and, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in memoriam to the UT Mitochondrial Clinic: 6431 Fannin Street, MSB 3.153, Houston, TX 77030.

Goodbye Cooper. Although I didn't know you personally you touched me deeply. I am sad for you family as you are not physically here for them anymore. I am however grateful that you are pain free and resting with God. I hope you are having a marshmallow war and driving that jeep you love. Thank you to your amazing parents who shared you with me.

I'm so sorry. I'll know you'll have days that will fill so empty without Cooper. I know the feeling of emptiness from losing a child. Remember, he is still your son, even though he is not here with you. He's your treasure in heaven. Our prayers are with you.

We've never met, but only know about Cooper through Aunt Linda Reader. Our family has prayed for little Cooper, and now we pray for the family. My two boys (ages 7 and 5)are particularly touched by him. My God grant you comfort and strength.

Words seem so inadequate but God understands our prayers even when we can't find the words to say them. God is closest to those with broken hearts.

Farewell Little Cooper man...I am sorry for your family because they don't have you here to enjoy anymore, but I am happy you are home with God in a place of rest and happiness forever. So sad and so sorry for your loss. Last time I saw him he was still pretty little. My granddaughter played her first soccer season with Coach Knight several years ago and I seen him at almost every game. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Sarah and Kevin, I am praying for God to wrap you and the entire family in comfort and mercy as you say good bye to Cooper. Even though I have watched my own child and many others fight against Mitochondrial diseases, I was still continually impressed by Cooper's ability to fight against monumental odds over and over again. His strength of spirit was incredible, and a credit to God who created him, and his family who shaped him. I am praying that this same strength will help each of you to walk this new road, honoring his legacy.

I did not know your sweet boy, but followed his story through Kate St. Clair. I lost my angel girl, Sophia, 3 years ago due to a neurological condition and just wanted to let you know I will be holding you and your family in prayer. Copper you are such a trooper. You made a difference in so many lifes. Now that you are in heaven with Jesus, I can see you sitting on his lap telling him stories about your family.
