1947-2017
Cynthia Baltazar, 70, of Sugar Land, Texas, died peacefully in her sleep on December 12, 2017, at Houston Methodist St. Catherine's Hospital in Katy. Born October 28, 1947 in Roanoke, Va. She is predeceased in death by her parents, Sam Vento / Diane Sharney Effenson and step parents, Marvin Effenson and Louise Vento.
Cynthia attended San Jacinto High School in Houston where she met Joe, the love of her life and husband of 48 years.
Cynthia was the CEO of the Baltazar Home and family. She was a beloved wife and loving mother of two successful men. Cynthia was a sensational cook and enjoyed preparing meals from scratch for her family and friends. Cynthia spent her life traveling the world; she especially loved being on board a cruise ship. When she wasn't traveling, Cynthia enjoyed Aggie football, Skeeters baseball, Jeopardy, movies, reading, board games, and spending time with her family.
Cynthia is Survived by her husband Joe, her two sons, Steven of Katy, Brian (Jay) of Sugar Land, her sister Cheryl (Bill) Rhodes of Atlanta, Ga; nieces and nephews, as well as her cherished pets: Molly, Cassi and Floppy.
Cynthia had an unwavering faith in God and was a member of Sugar Land Baptist Church. Over the years, she had become very involved with the more senior members of the church.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the MICU staff at The Houston Methodist Hospital for their unending support and exceptional care and to the ICU staff at Houston Methodist St Catherine's Hospital for their care and comfort.
Cynthia will be missed but never forgotten as her legacy will live on forever.
A celebration of Cynthia's life will be held at Sugar Land Baptist Church on January 17, 2018 at 11AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sugarland Baptist Church, 16755 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77479
