I am so sorry to hear about Dale. I went to U of M with him and lived with in Houston. I am shocked to hear he has passed.

He was always a good friend, one with both a huge smile and heart. We will miss you brother.

Similar to others, I worked with Dale at Hewlett Packard where Dale was my first boss out of college. I have not talked to him since 2007 and despite having only worked with him for a few years, Dale had a lasting influence on me. His nuggets of wisdom and frequent quotes have stuck with me over the course of my career and I will forever be thankful for his leadership and guidance that helped shape my professional approach. I am saddened to hear of his passing.

I share this memory In honor of Dale's birthday today. We were in the Single Adult Ministry at Tallowood Baptist Church in 1992. My employment had been terminated after 10 years with an energy company. I was struggling with decisions about what to do, in particular whether I should put my house up for sale and move back home. In a casual conversation one Sunday, Dale realized I felt overwhelmed with sadness and failure. He was so kind to me at that time that I have never forgotten it. He helped talk me through some of the decisions I might have to make and made them seem less scary and more pragmatic. Later he also coached me through some challenging finance courses while working on my MBA. Shortly after these events, Dale started attending a different church. I had not seen him or communicated with him in more than 25 years yet his kind words and deeds made an impact on me that I have greatly appreciated. May your sweet, generous soul rest in peace, dear friend.

I met Dale at Compaq in 1990 and we have been friends ever since. Although I met Dale as a coworker, he also quickly became my friend. His intellect, tenacity, sense of humor, and all the funny stories will always be remembered. We had many great discussions, but in the last year our discussions seemed to always turn to God and the blessings He has bestowed upon us. Dale was one of the most loving, generous, and caring men I have ever known. After Hurricane Harvey, Dale found a new purpose in serving others in need. He would just show up to clean up and rebuild for neighbors and people he did not know. He saw a need and jumped in to help. He was truly a man who loved deeply and served others. What an example to me and all of us.

Dale, my friend and my brother, I will miss you. I will miss our long conversations, your sense of humor, all the stories, and you great example of giving back. God has called you home, but I am left with so many great Dale Kemp memories. We will meet again!

Dale, my dear friend, oh how I will miss you. I will miss your messages from the Turks, rubbing in how much you were enjoying the view. I will miss hearing about your bargain finds after each holiday so that you could donate items to your favorite cause. I will miss our dinners at Taste of Texas (thank you for introducing me to this wonderful restaurant). I will miss trying to figure out what to do with all those rounds of ammunition and talking about your classic truck. I will miss trying to keep you from getting in trouble for scavenging food from conference room meetings...why waste it, right? I will miss hearing about how much you loved Jan and Kyrie and stories of your mom, your brother and his late wife. This world lost a caring, loving man way too soon. Rest easy my friend. I love you and will miss you.

I met Dale in the fall of 2003. Dale was my right hand man as I navigated the new world of Compaq as a long-term HP Finance Manager. I ran PSG Finance for three years with Dale as my trusted partner in improving our business, merging the two cultures, and above all - having fun! Dale and I shared great times at work, but more importantly we became good friends. I, too, know Dale's love of his place in the Turks and Caicos. My family and I stayed there twice over the years. I retired in 2009 and lost a bit of touch with Dale. However, I can say he was one of the most loyal, down-to-earth, and most fun co-workers I had in that short time we had together. He was a great man, and I am fortunate to have such fond memories of some of my favorite (and funny) work stories with Dale. Miss you.

I’ve only known Dale for the past few years but what a joy it has been! He was a generous soul with a kind heart who loved spending time with his friends. Mark and I were fortunate to be able to spend time with him at one of his favorite spots in the world, Turks & Caicos! Dale had a great sense of humor. I remember how excited he was when he accomplished one of his “retirement” goals.. growing his hair long enough to get it into a ponytail! He was so kind and supportive of me during that trip as I had to make an immediate exit back to the states to be with my dad as he was passing away. It really touched me how he continued to check on me for weeks after he returned home. I have so many fond memories of that trip and wish there could be more memories in the making but God has other plans for him now. Dale, you will be missed!

Dale my friend, my brother, Da Kempster. How many times did we laugh over the last decade, sharing opinions in hotly contested debates, enjoying funny stories of the Midwest, and conversing on so many different topics! You weren't supposed to leave so soon, we had many more evenings planned with friends to enjoy together and reminisce about the good times and the crazy times. I will remember your kindness and humour and humanity and will miss you terribly. Raising a toast to you my friend and wishing you and your family peace at this very sad moment. I have so many fantastic pics of many events at work and at our parties, but will share just one of some of us from work that captures the good cheer we all felt while working on some of the harder challenges at HP. All the best from me, America and Lucca, and may your generosity and spirit live on forever. We miss you already!!

So saddened to hear of Dale's passing. I met Dale over 20 years ago in Massachusetts shortly after Compaq acquired Digital. He was then and has consistently been a friendly and engaging person and a co-worker who made the workplace interesting and fun. We have lost someone always willing to help others much too soon. Rest In Peace Dale. You will be missed!

Many memories of Dale and our times together. We will always treasure our dinner conversations while catching up in Houston or spending time in Turks and Caicos. Your crazy stories, projects and ideas being a smile to our face. I will always remember you riding your bike along the streets in Turks. You loved life! We will miss you friend!

As I was reading the email sharing the sad news, I got a vivid memory of you smiling. A big smile. Dale, I will always remember you as a kind person, with a great sense of humor and great coworker.
Through the years we worked together, you shared work and life reflections that I find them very valuable, I have shared with others.
All these good memories will be a beatiful way to remind you and how you touch people lives.

Dale you will certainly be missed. All those who knew you were inspired by your tenacity, your strength, your empathy and your faith in others.
When the hurricane and devastating floods hit Huston you were an Angel to the lost. People you met in the temporary shelters you helped. Strangers before the devastation and showed them the process to get aid, helped them contractors, and provided food for so many. You were their Angel when they had no one to turn to.
At HP you helped get us through the bad times, and there were so many bad times. When it was time to celebrate you showed us how to party and kept us laughing.
A gracious person who as a young man gave your heart to a single mom and her little daughter. You showed that girl so much love, emotional support, spiritual support, and generous to a fault financial support. You were a role model all blood fathers should emulate.
During this past year you talk so much of about your faith and those unselfish acts that continued to uplift you and drive you harder.
In his wisdom, although i will never understand it. God has called one mighty and fearless Angel home.
I will think of you always when I hear this, enjoy paradise, you have more than earned it!

So many great memories shared with my friend of 35+ years. Traveled to many countries and had a blast exploring the world. Such a great sense of humor and generous to others in need. Even though Harvey's flooding hit his house hard, he was out helping others recover/rebuild afterwards. So creative with anything to do with architecture and remodeling. I was always amazed at his handiwork. He loved sharing time in Turks and Caicos with friends, old and new ones. Many life experiences and times of growth were spent with him.

I will definitely miss him, but I know he's at peace in Heaven now.
