Daniel Forbes Obituary

Forbes
Daniel Forbes, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away June 5, 2011. Dan will be remembered for his love and loyalty to his family.
Son of Lena and Morris Forbes, Daniel was born in Omaha, Nebraska December 8, 1928 and moved to San Antonio as a child.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Marcia. He will be missed by his dear sisters, Sarah Shipper, Ruth and brother-in-law Martin Litwin of Dallas. Daniel was a devoted father to his children, Harris and wife Kay, George and wife Andrea, Matthew and wife Carol and daughter Judy. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan and wife Andrea, Joanna and husband Zachary, Brian, David, Laura and Kylie.
He attended Trinity University, where he excelled in sports. Daniel owned and managed Applebaum and Company for 52 years. He was an avid football and basketball fan. He supported the Northside Boys Club athletic activities and the athletic programs at Trinity University in San Antonio and Rice University.
The family greatly appreciates the loving care Daniel received at the Barton House and the Silverado Hospice in Sugarland, and all of their wonderful and caring staff. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Houston, 2245 W. Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030-2008, to Congregation Beth El, Missouri City, Texas, and to the Houston SPCA.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 7th at 9:30 a.m. at the Kagan-Rudy Chapel at Emanu El Memorial Park, 8341 Bissonnet St., Rabbi Seth Stander, officiating.

I will always remember Dan as being so proud of his family and enjoyed being with them. They will all miss him very much.
