Jackie, we share your grief. May it be tempered by our knowing that Ed, and all of us, will share in the love of our Lord, and will meet again. Peace be with you, Jackie. Mary and Chester Makowski

We have lost another pillar of the M&T family. I never forget on my 2nd day at work in July, 1981, he asked me about Belhaven, NC. Little did I know, he knew alot about Belhaven and had friends here. He had already checked me out about my character and integrity with some of his Duke buddies that know my family. M&T had the finest people that I ever worked with. Thanks Mr.Dunn, for Mr. Godwin, Mr.Howard, Mr. Taylor, Mr.Hunter, Mr.Davis, Mr. Weymeyer, Mr. McMullian, Harry Carroll, Harold and Bobby Brown, Clifton, my dear friend, Monte Tullos, and my mentor, Mr. Harold Wallace. You could not ask for better life examples to follow than these fine people. All above were hired personally by Mr. Dunn, except Monte, but he deserves to be mentioned because he is being joined by good company.

What a dear, dear uncle we've lost. I'll always remember Uncle Ed as cheerful, warm, and interested in every topic of conversation - and adoring of Aunt Jackie. I just regret there were so many miles between us. Much love to you all. See you in Gatesville. Mabel Hayes Godwin Kenney (Yorktown, VA)

We were greatly saddened to learn of Ed's passing. He was a very, very special man who accomplished more in his life than most of us can dream of doing. May the Lord bless and keep him forever. And may the Lord comfort his family.
