Eliseo Gomez Jr.

ELISEO GOMEZ, JR., age 61 of Cypress, TX, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008 in Houston, TX.  He was born in Topeka, KS, on February 15, 1947 to the late DeSales and Helen (Guevara) Gomez. Eliseo was a graduate of Hayden High School, received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Washburn University and Masters of Business Administration from what is now known as the University of Central Oklahoma. Along with his Alma Mater, he also loved to cheer on his two favorite college teams, Notre Dame and Texas A&M. He honored his country by serving in the Air Force during the Vietnam era and later worked as a Rail Coordinator for Cemex for over 30 years. Eliseo was also an active parishioner with Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. Eliseo was married to his loving wife, Cecilia Jesus Gomez, on April 8, 1972. They enjoyed a loving marriage and true partnership for 36 years. Eliseo was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He cared deeply for his loving wife, Cecilia, and his children, Joanna and Patrick.  His favorite pastime was spending time with his four grandsons. Eliseo is survived by his wife, Cecilia Jesus Gomez; their children, Joanna Elizabeth Caudillo and husband Larry, Patrick Joseph Gomez and wife Brandi all of Houston, Texas; his brothers, Steve Gomez of Topeka, Kansas, Thomas Gomez of Pearland, Texas; his sister, Roseanna Skelton of Jacksonville, Arkansas; grandchildren, Anthony and Matthew Caudillo and Dominic and Vincent Gomez; and other loving relatives and friends. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 18th at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 11507 Huffmeister Rd., Houston, Texas with Fr. Sean Horrigan, Celebrant.
