Ellis Higgins Obituary
1939-2016
Ellis Higgins Jr., 77 passed away on June 14, 2016. He was born on January 9, 1939 to Ellis Higgins, Sr. and Minnie Higgins. He was the only son of four sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Minerva Swindle and Hazel Austin.
Ellis graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Sweeny, Texas and attended Texas Southern University. He was employed by The Nabisco Co. and retired after 36 years of service. He was a member of Progressive New Hope Baptist Church. He is survived by his only son, Gregory Ellis Higgins (Sharon); two sisters, Johnelle Arceneaux and Dr. Joyce Holley (Dr. Dan) of The Woodlands, Texas and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016. A visitation is from 12:00p.m. to 12:55 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service @ 1:00 p.m. at Progressive New Hope Baptist Church, 3106 Paige @ Elgin. The Reverend L.L. Atkins, Pastor. Interment: Paradise South (Pearland, TX).
