Frances Delores Hockens passed away July 24 at her home in Sugar Land, Texas, after a recent hospital stay. She was 92.

Frances was born February 4, 1933, in New Franklin, Mo., to Harry and Anna Mary Davison. She graduated from high school there in 1951. She followed her mom and four sisters into the nursing field, receiving her certification at St. Mary's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. She married Sidney Hockens in 1960 also in Kansas City, and they celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2010. Sidney preceded her in death in 2016.

Frances was an avid reader, golfer, and traveler, having lived in London for four years while her husband was working there for Phillip Petroleum. They also lived in Kemmerer, Wyo; Bartlesville, Okla.; and Englewood, Colo. She lived in Sugar Land for 36 years.

She is survived by daughter Valerie Hockens of Seattle; son Sean Hockens and his wife Flor of Morris Plains, NJ; son Sidney Hockens, Jr., and his partner, Joe Rappa, of New York; Anne Hockens of San Francisco; and granddaughter Charlotte Morgan and her husband, Greg, of New Braunfels, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service and lunch will be held 11:30 AM October 4, at Sugar Land Mortuary, 1818 Eldridge Road, Sugar Land.
