Peter, Paul and Clifton family,
You are in my thoughts and heart. It's a comfort knowing Fred is resting, without suffering, in heaven..I never forget the 11 months we knew each other. We spent countless hours on the videophone and I'll never forget the times we visited with each other. I love him so much and his brothers, jack, Mike and their family too. I will miss him so much and he will be in my heart forever. Thank you for the compassion and hospitality you have shown me. I will never forget.
Love,
Diann

Cindy,
I wanted to take this chance to tell you what good sister-in-law you have been to both Fred and me. I thank you for everything you did for Fred in his last days, for being there for Fred when I couldn't be there for him, and for being there for us at Betty's, my mother's, and Fred's funeral. You brought us comfort knowing that there is someone we can rely on when we need shoulder to lean on. You are good aunt to all my nephews and nieces. You are a good grandmother to both precious grandchildren. I can see that they all love you. Mike told me that you fixed Fred some potato soup the last time. I know that Fred appreciated you fixing some for him and that he enjoyed your soup. You are a wonderful sister-in-law, aunt and grandmother. You deserve our love.
I love you, Cindy.

Mike,
I just wanted to express you my gratiful for being there for Fred every time he needed someone or a shoulder to lean on. Thank you for all love you had given to him. Thank you for being his best friend, buddy, and brother. Thank you for doing your best to make him happy. I know that in Fred's heart, he was so grateful for a brother like you and with whom he could go out to fishing and hunting. After every fishing or hunting, he always told me all good things about doing it with you and that you came in handy for him with setting up blind stand and organizing for next hunting. He always enjoyed it every time he went with you. He loved it every time. I know that he will wait for you to come home with him and to hunt and fishing with him again.
I may not be as best brother as Fred was to you, but I will be a brother that, hopefully, you will be proud of as I do you as my "baby" brother. You will have to bear with me for calling you baby brother.
Thank you for being a good brother to both Fred and me.
Love,
Jack

Sam and Diana,
I wanted to take this opportunity to express my sorrow to you of your loss of your favorite uncle, Fred. I am at as much loss as you are. I know that uncle Fred loved you both very much from the bottom of his heart. He always spoke highly of you every time I visited him.
Thank you for everything you did and being there for him under all circumstances. I know that he appreciated you both very much and that he expressed his appreciation to you by loving you. Thank you for being good nephew and niece to him. I am so happy that he did get to see you both one more time.
I know that I can't replace him as your favorite uncle, but I will always be your uncle whether you like it or not. Ha! However, I promise you that I will be your uncle that you will be proud of.
I love and am very proud of you both, Sam and Diana.
Uncle Jack

Paul, Peter & the Clifton family,
I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Freddy for over 20 years. And some where along the way during that time, Freddy and I became more than co-workers…we became good friends. I was a young electrical engineer fresh out of college when I first met Freddy. He was the technician for the Audio Development Lab at NASA JSC and we were both working for Lockheed. Early on he gave several of us a sheet on how to sign the alphabet and before long I was signing a few words. Freddy was always so patient as I learned to sign, often having to repeatedly remind me of the correct sign or to slowly spell out a word when I just couldn’t get it. But he also encouraged me to keep at it and to get better, so that finally we could carry on a half way decent conversation. I remember when I found out that people had sign names. It was interesting and funny to see how the name related to their owner. I kept bugging Freddy for a name and was begging to think I would never get one. But the day finally arrived when Freddy gave me my name…funny how the small things can make such an impression on your life.
Freddy was an excellent technician and a gifted person who could pretty much build anything. You could always tell Freddy’s work because it was always perfect. So the engineers in the group felt lucky to have him as our technician, unless you needed to make a change. Freddy would always ask us to make sure we had the engineering right before he started because he didn’t want to have to come back later to fix our mistakes. After always assuring Freddy that our plans were correct, he would begin. Of course being good engineers, we always had to change something. As a young engineer, I was always scared having to back to Freddy to request a change because I knew I was in for a lecture. But as the years went by, and I still went back with changes, we’d have those same lectures about getting it right the first time but it was always followed by more important conversations about our families and what was happening in our lives.
Freddy had a quick wit, a great sense of humor and could always make you smile. He loved his family and told me numerous times how proud he was of his 2 boys and how they grew up into fine young men.
My prayers and thoughts will continue to be with all of you during this sad time. He was a good friend…and will be missed by all of his colleagues at NASA…but never forgotten!

Fred moved in next door to us in Clear Lake. Rachael and I moved and lost contact with your father. I am so sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you tomorrow. Paul and Peter,
I am so sorry about your daddy's passing. It is my great loss as well. However, I am relieved that your daddy is in better hands and place now that he can live happily and in peace.
I know that we had more death in our families in the past 5 years since aunt Betty. We will need to be there for others in need of support, love, and care and stay as close as we can. I do want us to stay as close as we can and visit every opportunity we have. Absence of your daddy and my brother does not necessarily mean that we should drift away, but we should stay as close to others as possible. Please do stay as close to us as you can.
You guys will always be my nephews that I will always be proud of and cherish. Having you as my nephews is blessing. Be who your daddy will always be proud of and about.
I might not be your daddy's best brother like uncle Mike, but it did not and does not make me love your daddy less. I had and have always loved him. He knew that I did. He was a wonderful and good brother. I was and am fortunate to have two wonderful brothers and the world's best sister, which is the best gift of all gifts I have ever had and received from above us.
You will always be in my thought and my daily prayer.
Paul and Peter, I love you! _\m/

Here's what I send to Jack when he had a friend inform me of Freddy's passing: Jack, Thank you for asking Carlene to inform me about Freddy. I had so much fun with him when my family lived in Metairie, LA for a year. In such a short time, we became instant friends and spent a lot of time together. I loved his stories and his ASL was something I'd never forget! xo Janet (Rothenberg Weinstock)

Dear my brother, Fred,
I never dreamed I would end up writing a note here as I did not expect you to go that soon. I wanted you to know what you were a good brother regardless of what happened and I will miss you a great deal. I believe that you know that I came to see you more than once before I returned home. I wanted to talk to you so badly, but you were too sick to wake up for me, which I can understand. Thank you for being my brother and all those fun we had together in our childhood. Thank you for your love and caring you had shown when I was in need like my last back surgery. I know that I was asleep when you were there for me, but I acknowledge that you were there for me. Also, thank you for standing up for me and supports you had given to me as your brother. I appreciate your sense of humor that always made me smile and laugh. Laugh is good medicine, you know that, Fred.
I will always remember you on all occassions, especially Thanksgiving,Christmas, and New Year, which are the most important occassions for family gathers. You will never be forgotten and will always be in my thought, prayer, and my heart. Fred, once more I want to tell you that I love you. Tell my parents, and Betty Hi for me. You have all fun you can have with them in the paradise, where Mike and I will meet you all one day. I am not going to bid you good bye, but good night with much love.
I love you and good night, Fred!
Your brother, Jack

I am so sorry to hear about the great loss to your dad, uncle and brothers. My love goes out to all of you. May the Lord ease your pain with his blessings. Memories seem like so little immediately after a loss, but we become more precious and healing with our time. Hugs Auntie/Sis Cindy
