Fred Muegge Obituary

Fred Muegge Frederick Scherff Muegge, Jr., 66, passed away December 18, 2013, in Fredericksburg, Texas. He was born September 27, 1947 in Houston, Texas to Fred S. A friendly, loving, compassionate person, he had many friends who loved him in return. The family greatly appreciates the deep devotion and loving care given to him by Mimi Taylor.

Fred was a beautiful soul. He and Mimi were the sweetest, most wonderful couple. I loved the look on their faces as they danced around the dance floor together, you could see the love in their eyes. I bet he's dancing around right now, smiling down on his dear love.
My condolences to his family, mostly his dear wife Mimi who I know is missing half of her heart right now. May we all have peace and kindness in our hearts, I know that would make Fred smile.

I am so very GRATEFUL to have had Fred in my life. Although our journey together here on Earth was short... only 6 years, it was filled with a lifetime of love, laughter, dancing and amazing adventures! We shared so much LOVE! He is my BEST FRIEND! My partner! My husband! My SOUL MATE! My Anam Cara! I miss our wild rides to catch a sunset on the river, or a rain shower in Mason County. I miss his gentle voice and his beautiful smile. I miss the way he always said, "Hey you!", as he threw his hat on the pie safe, when he came home at night. I miss his protection and care. I miss his arms and amazing hands. I WILL LOVE him FOREVER!!!
Fred's last words to me were, "WE ARE a miracle."

Fred and Mimi... til death do us part!

I met Fred in Fredericksburg through a mutual friend maybe 10 years ago. Trips to the Hill Country after that always included a visit with him or when he came to Houston. I have been enjoying my memories of Fred at festivals, the Alamo Springs cafe, his beautiful property, and at the farm for one of his mom's birthdays. Fred was a lovely person, fun, gentle, and a pleasure to be around. My condolences and warm thoughts to his family.

We will remember Fred's gentle and fun-loving spirit the rest of our lives, particularly every time we cook with our "miggies," the beautiful and simple wooden tongs he crafted. He loved Mimi, his mother, and dancing, and we loved him.
