Gareth Jones Obituary

GARETH OWEN JONES, age 19, formerly of Katy, TX, passed away unexpectedly on November 30th, 2005. He was born on March 29th, 1986 in Anchorage, Alaska to Michael and Pamela Bell Jones. Gareth was a freshman at Blinn Junior College in Bryan, TX. He had a passion for the game of rugby and played on the men's rugby team at Texas A&M University. He also loved the outdoors and was a keen fisherman. Gareth is survived by his parents; his brothers, Michael and Ben; his sister, Ivy; and relatives in Alaska, Scotland and Kenya. He will also be missed by many friends, his teammates and coaches from his rugby "family." A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 10th, 2005 at First Baptist Church of Katy (Bolin Chapel), 600 Pin Oak Road, Katy, Texas, with a reception in the main church building following the service. For those wishing to do so, donations can be made in Gareth's honor to the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence (www.bradycenter.org).
