To my Para Gordon,

You are truly one of the greatest men that I've ever known. I wonder how we're going to make it without you. If you only knew how many people's lives you touched. I've never seen such a show of love and support for your loved ones. We gathered on Tues. to celebrate your life and we did it 'Gordon' style: Jimmy Buffet, The Eagles, flip flops, Birds of Paradise, lots of family and friends and Harley Buddies from the past!

I can't tell you how much you have brought to our lives. You helped make me into who I am today and I know Michael and Michelle feel the same way. You were the best uncle in the world. What other uncle would take 3 snot nosed children to Cozumel for a week? Memories of Astroworld, Harley rides, candy in our hair, your sweet smile and those beautiful blue eyes overwhelm me!

Most important, you were a wonderful father to Kayman! She's grown to have your fire and spunk and we're so proud of her.

You left quite the shoes for Michael to fill. I don't think he has a clue as to where to start. You were his uncle, his fill-in 'father', his brother, his fishing and hunting buddy and most of all~his best friend. I know he will miss you most of all! If I could just teach him the "double kiss on the cheek" trademark that made you who you were.

Your legacy will live on through us and our children. All 5 of my kids trompled off to school just last week decked out in the camouflage jackets you bought them for Christmas-hoods and all!

What I love most about you is the way you loved life! You lived it to the fullest and I know you taught us all a lesson, that life is too short and we need to seize the day! I promise to try to do that from this day forward! Here's to margaritas, sunny days, sandy beaches, Padron tequila, raw oysters and good music. I love you ParaGordon!

I was blessed to have Gordon's parents as my Godparents. I cannot express how fine a people the Maynard's are. Gordon, I recall you with great affection and you will be missed by all of us that were fortunate to know you. To Uta and the rest of Gordon's family and friends, my deepest sympathy for your loss. May God give you his strength and wisdom in knowing Gordon is in the kingdom of Heaven.

I was saddened to hear of Gordon's demise. He was a friend of many, many years. I will never forget his good-natured demeanor and attitude towards life. The world is a sadder place for his loss.

I know Gordon will be missed very much. Our prayers go out to the family. May God ease the mourning and allow you to only remember the "good times".

May God bless each of you and keep you.
