Halcyon "Halcie" Claire Wethington went home to be with the Lord at 33 on Dec 28, 2024 at her home in Houston, TX. She is survived by her husband John, three children Molly, Ellie, Peter, father Mark Pfeiffer, siblings Niles, Ana. She was preceded in death by her mother Valerie and grandparents.
Halcie was a deeply devoted follower of Jesus, amazing wife, adoring mother, beloved friend, faithful pastor's wife. She was known for having an exceptionally deep and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ reflected in countless prayer journals. Her unshakeable faith impacted thousands all over the world as she endured a 3 year battle with brain cancer yet never lost her joy and peace in the midst of great physical and emotional suffering. Halcie served her family with unimaginable love and kindness. At 22, she helped her husband's home church (now New Day Church in Oak Forest) establish a healthy urban church that revives other churches across Greater Houston.
Halcie earned a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Houston Christian University on scholarship as a Cross Country runner. She worked as a nurse for Memorial Hermann, HISD, The Source for Women (Pregnancy Center) and her dream job on staff at New Day Church.
