Harold Chamberlain "Hank" entered the gates of Heaven on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the age of 91. Hank was born September 20, 1931 in E. St. Louis, IL. He grew up in Dumas, AR. with his grandparents, Arthur and Dora Fansler. Dora led him to Jesus at a young age and he spent his life loving the Lord, teaching Sunday school and leading others to salvation.
Hank graduated from Dumas High School in 1949 and went on to receive his undergraduate degree from Arkansas A&M College. In 1957, he graduated from the University of Arkansas Law School. Hank went straight to work for the Internal Revenue Service in the Office of the Chief Counsel as a trial attorney followed by a couple of years at the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. In 1963, Hank moved to Houston, TX and opened a one-man law practice dedicated solely to tax matters. His small firm grew and became what today is the law firm Chamberlain Hrdlicka. Hank loved solving tax issues and practiced law until recently when his health no longer allowed. Hank was a generous man and a staunch advocate of education with several scholarships and endowments set up in both Houston and Dumas. Giving to the very end, Hank donated his body to the UT Health Science McGovern Medical School.
At Hank's request, there will not be a funeral or memorial service. The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Hank is survived by his daughter Caryn Halaszyn (Patrick) of Dripping Springs, TX, his son Matthew (Kimberley) of Clearlake, TX., five grandchildren, a host of friends who were like family to him, as well as extended family and colleagues.
