Hazel Coogan Obituary

HAZEL BRUNET COOGAN, age 102, born August 22, 1902 in New Orleans, Louisiana died on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 in Houston. Hazel was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She is survived by daughter Shirley C. Winn-Bannerot and son Fred P. Coogan, Jr. and wife Norma; grandchildren H. Harbour Winn III, Pairs B. Winn, Ashley M. Winn, Cathleen Coogan, Fred P. Coogan III and Sheila Coogan, M.D.; great grandchildren Michelle Winn, Cristin Winn, Shawn Winn, Grady Winn and Rory Winn. The family would like to give special thanks to Home Instead sitters Jesse Thompson and Janie Smith and to Odyssey Hospice nurse James McLoughlin. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at seven o'clock in the evening with a Vigil service at half past seven on the 18th of February, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive. Houston. Family will greet friends at half past ten o'clock in the morning with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at eleven o'clock on Saturday, the 19th of February, 2005 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway with Rev. John T. Weyer as Celebrant. A reception will follow at the church. Following on Monday, the 21st of February, 2005 a visitation will be held at nine o'clock in the morning with a Rosary recited by Rev. Randy Roux at a quarter past ten at Jacob Schoen & Sons, 3827 Canal Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. Entombment will follow in the family Mausoleum at Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fred P. Coogan III, H. Harbour Winn III, Paris B. Winn, Ashley M. Winn, Shawn Winn, Grady Winn and Rory Winn. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be given to Houston Charity Guild of Catholic Women, c/o Jessie Sloan, 1203 Lovett Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77006-3857, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, or a Charity of Choice.
