Althea & Toni, I was sadden to hear of your loss. I can't say I know how you feel, but I can imagine and words seem to be trival at this time, for we know not what to say but we want to let you know that we share your loss and your grief. You are not alone GOD is there to lift and carry you through. keep in mind GOD makes no mistakes. I'm sure you have many memories to cherrish and Herman will always be in your hearts. When we don't know what to say or do just say the name "JESUS" He know what we need before we ask.

Herman played little league football (SE Raiders) with my sons (Broderick & Brandon Humphrey) and nephews (Marco & Montra Scott) at that time I realized the talent that God blessed this young man with. We may feel that Herman wasn't able to full fill his dreams and his work wasn't done here on earth however God felt otherwise. My thoughts and prayers goes out to the family, friends, and teammates of Herman Mitchell. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.

I visited Houston the weekend of Herman's death and was saddened. A promising life taken away too soon.

I had the pleasure of meeting Herman in the ninth grade at Westfield. You can say we pretty much grew up together. We went from being teenagers to becoming young men and women. He was a very dear friend of mine. I will never forget his beautiful smile and his loving since of humor.

To The Mitchell Family:
We personally did know your son, but our niece Nay Carter goes to the same school.
It does hurt when someone so young has to go, but the Lord is a JUST GOD and He is always on time.
The Lord never makes mistakes, there is a reason for the season and it was Herman time to shine in Heaven as he did at Westfield.
The Lord is most ever powerful, keep God first in your life and continue to give God all the praise for whatever happens in your life whether you are sad or happy.
May the Lord forever bless all of you in your time of bereavement.

Herman is a tribute to all the strong, wonderful, Westfield young men. A true leader, a friend, a loving and warm person - a real achiever, a joy to be with. I was fortunate enough to teach him for one short year.
Thank you for sharing him with me. Herman had a big hug for me EVERY morning - on days he came to school tardy he would make it a point to come by and hug me. I'll miss those brief hugs as I know his mother and family members will.
God Bless you and your family in your time of sorrow. Herman was a nova-a star and certainly a Westfield Star!

I had known Hermann a short while, but knew he was going to be able to accomplish his goals. He was a very determined and dedicated young man, who will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
