J. Edwin Low

J. Low Obituary

J . EDWIN LOW passed away on September 6, 2006. He was born September 17, 1920 near Campbell, Texas, the son of Joseph Solomon and Alma Davis Low. He graduated from East Texas State Teachers College, and in 1945 from Southwestern Medical College in Dallas. Dr. Low served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps in Asmara, Eritrea, East Africa from 1948-50. From 1950-61 he served as a missionary doctor in Nigeria, West Africa, with the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board. In 1963 he joined the Neblett Clinic in Canyon, Texas, where he worked for 27 years. In all the Lows lived in Canyon for 40 years before moving to Houston in 2003. Survivors include his wife, Anita; children Jon, Martha, and David; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday evening 7-9 p.m. at Treemont Retirement Home, 2501 Westerland Drive. Funeral services will take place at Earthman Southwest Chapel, 12555 Kirkwood, on Saturday at 4 p.m. Interment will be at the Cumby, Texas cemetery.
