James Trammell "Coach" Swann

After losing a valiant fight with cancer, JAMES TRAMMELL "COACH" SWANN, 75, of Conroe, passed away Monday, March 31, 2008. He was born September 21, 1932 in Caladonia, Texas to Ula Bell Barton Swann and O.B. Swann. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Fran Ward Swann, six children: Donna and husband Terry Hoesel, Sharon Fox, Gayle and husband Clyde Ayres, Jeff and wife Shelly Ward, Tony and wife Emilie Ward, Amy and husband Patrick McLaughlin, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Trammell will always be remembered as a loving father, husband, coach and friend. He could bring laughter to everyone he met. Throughout his career, he touched and influenced many lives. He was a football coach for 30 years, 23 of them at Travis Junior High. A celebration of life will be on Wednesday, April 2nd at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church in Conroe with Rev. Sam Jones officiating. Interment will follow at New Bethlehem Cemetery in Cut N Shoot. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Metcalf Funeral Home.
