Jeanette, so sorry to hear of your loss. I will never forget when he sent me a letter congratulating me for passing the CPA exam and honoring what a difficult task that was as a wife and a mom. I still have that letter. Sending prayers and hugs to you and your family.

Jeanette,I just heard about Jim's passing. My heart goes out to you and his family. Jim was a major force in my life and career. He was a guiding light in my life at BHI, at Quality Tubing, and finally at NOV. That's 29 years! He will be with us forever. Sincerely, David Daniel

A giant in Houston and Texas business circles has fallen. He will be remembered as a compassionate leader, whose instincts were always right on the mark. He was a man of his word, never requiring more than a hand shake to close a deal. His integrity was his hallmark. Those around him learned from his guidance. All of us who worked with him were so fortunate to be in his presence. He will be remembered and missed.

One of the nicest and smartest executives I've ever interviewed. So kind that even though I forgot our first appointment he agreed to a second meeting and met me with a friendly smile, a warm handshake and a great feeling.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family. What a great guy Jim was, full of love and compassion, and one of the best listeners you could ever encounter, especially given the levels of executive authority he reached. He was perhaps the most astute judge of character I ever met (and had the privilege of working with) in my career. Jim absolutely embodied the right mix of toughness and caring- yes, results were imperative, but he truly wanted his team members to enjoy the pathway to achievement. He was successful in life for the right reasons. What a joy and honor it was to know and work with this fine man. May he rest in peace.

Jim was an exceptional man, outstanding leader and one of a kind corporate executive that made BHI not only a great company but a fun place to work. There are too many to count top managers & executives around the world that owe part of their success to Jim. I was fortunate to be one of them. Phil Rice

My condolences to the family. I have fond memories of Jim from our time together at Baker Oil Tools, back in the seventies and eighties. He came to visit our operation in Brazil several times and we had a very good relationship. Very sorry to hear about his passing.
